Artificial Intelligence and Ethics — What You Need To Know

Big Data analytics, machine learning, and other emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have, in a very short time, become astonishingly good at helping companies see, and react to, patterns in data they would otherwise have missed. More and more, however, these new patterns carry difficult ethical choices.

We’re increasingly giving AI power over life-changing decisions.AI and ethics is less a technological issue than as a societal one. We have to ensure that organizations implementing AI are aware of the dangers and put mechanisms in place to avoid potential disasters.

To find out what your organization can do, see my new Digitalist Magazine article on AI And Ethics: We Will Live What Machines Learn, co-written with Dan Wellers, Global Lead of Digital Futures at SAP.

I believe these messages need to be more widely communicated — please consider downloading the executive brief Teaching Machines Right from Wrong and sharing it inside your organization.
