This post looks at using the latest technologies to expand the reach of SAPPHIRE far beyond just the people physically attending.<\/p>\n<p>In the last six months, SAP has extensively tested virtual meetings inside the company, for example using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inxpo.com\/\">inXpo<\/a> platform for over 10,000 employees in place of the traditional internal \u201cFKOM\u201d (field) and \u201cDKOM\u201d (development) kickoff meetings.<\/p>\n<p>This same platform was used for a virtual event called \u201cInsights from SAPPHIRE\u201d that covered highlights of the SAPPHIRE show for those who couldn\u2019t make the trip.<\/p>\n<p>Over 8,500 people registered, and were able to view over 35 selected live presentations, visit virtual \u201cshow booths\u201d complete with \u201cvirtual staff\u201d, network with experts, and read the <a href=\"https:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/jonathan-bechers-sapphire-09-blog\/\">SAPPHIRE blog from Jonathan Becher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Click on the images below to get highlights of the platform and the event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/presentations.inxpo.com\/Shows\/SAP\/5-12-09_Sapphire\/Tour\/Attendee\/player.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapweb20\/2009\/05\/image1.jpg?resize=690%2C379&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"image\" width=\"690\" height=\"379\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/presentations.inxpo.com\/Shows\/SAP\/5-12-09_Sapphire\/Tour\/Attendee\/player.html\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sapweb20\/2009\/05\/image9.jpg?resize=690%2C380&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"image\" width=\"690\" height=\"380\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The show floor was modeled on the real-life layout of the booths in the Orlando Convention Center.<\/p>\n<p>To make sure that the event was interactive, SAP experts from all around the world were recruited to ensure that attendees could get their questions answered, 24&#215;7, throughout the whole show.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/myventurepad.com\/blog\/MargotHeiligman\/site\/profile\/\">Margot Heiligman<\/a> blogged about her experience staffing the show: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/myventurepad.com\/MVP\/60992\">Another Social Media Weapon in Your Arsenal<\/a>\u201d on <a href=\"http:\/\/myventurepad.com\/\">MyVenturePad<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>While some of my colleagues have been at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap-tv.com\/stockfootage\/#\/Specials\/\">Sapphire 2009<\/a> in Orlando, FL, this week, those of us here in our global offices have been able to engage with customers and influencers in a different way.
