{"id":12181,"date":"2010-12-01T17:10:17","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T16:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/?p=2664"},"modified":"2010-12-01T17:10:17","modified_gmt":"2010-12-01T16:10:17","slug":"sap-introduces-first-hana-enabled-application-links-and-screen-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/sap-introduces-first-hana-enabled-application-links-and-screen-shots.html","title":{"rendered":"SAP Introduces First HANA-Enabled Application: Links and Screen Shots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"SAP HANA\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/hanalaunchbanner.jpg?resize=690%2C310&#038;ssl=1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAP HANA\" width=\"690\" height=\"310\" \/><\/p>\n<p>SAP <a title=\"HANA press release\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sap.com\/about\/newsroom\/press.epx?pressid=14457\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> today at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sapteched.com\/india\/\" target=\"_blank\">SAP TechEd Bangalore<\/a> that the first version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap.com\/platform\/in-memory-computing\/index.epx\" target=\"_blank\">SAP HANA (High-Performance Analytic Appliance)<\/a> is now \u201creleased to customer\u201d as part of BusinessObjects Strategic Workforce Planning application, the first in a new generation of in-memory applications based on SAP HANA.<\/p>\n<p>HANA is part of the \u201cgreat leap forward\u201d in business analytics, bringing together the latest and best technology (column databases, hardware appliances, massive parallelism, in-memory processing, and intuitive analytic interfaces) to rethink and simplify how organizations access information.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to SAP executive board member Vishal Sikka <a href=\"http:\/\/sap-tv.com\/6868\" target=\"_blank\">talk about HANA on SAP TV<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sap-tv.com\/6868\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Vishal Sikka on SAP TV\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/image.jpg?resize=690%2C382&#038;ssl=1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Vishal Sikka on SAP TV\" width=\"690\" height=\"382\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to SAP\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap.com\/platform\/in-memory-computing\/index.epx\" target=\"_blank\">official HANA web page<\/a>, the benefits of HANA are \u201cReal Information, Real Action, Real Customer Benefits\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make better decisions faster with new ways to look at your business based on instant, intuitive access to relevant information, along with greater ease of collaboration.<\/li>\n<li>Enable innovative new applications combining high volume transactions with analytics to dramatically improve existing planning, forecasting, pricing optimization, and other processes.<\/li>\n<li>Accelerate business performance while reducing TCO with less hardware, maintenance, and testing based on proven tools that are intuitive to implement whether delivered on-demand or via appliances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap.com\/about\/newsroom\/press.epx?pressid=14457\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a> offered further information about SAP HANA\u2019s performance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very complex reports and queries against 500 billion point-of-sale records were run in less than one minute, thanks to the unique multi-core processing algorithms.
