{"id":12201,"date":"2011-04-28T11:29:43","date_gmt":"2011-04-28T10:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/?p=2955"},"modified":"2021-08-19T10:19:07","modified_gmt":"2021-08-19T08:19:07","slug":"sap-businessobjects-bi-4-eim-4-launch-the-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/2011\/04\/sap-businessobjects-bi-4-eim-4-launch-the-netherlands.html","title":{"rendered":"SAP BusinessObjects BI 4 &#038; EIM 4 Launch, The Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m in the Netherlands for two days of SAP BusinessObjects BI and EIM 4 launches at the bright, modern offices of SAP Netherlands in \u2018s Hertogenbosch (originally located so as to be close to Belgium, which originally didn\u2019t have its own SAP office).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image15.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image_thumb14.jpg?resize=690%2C442&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"image\" width=\"690\" height=\"442\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first day was for SAP partners, with a packed room and in-depth technical presentations of BI 4 and EIM 4 in the morning (the survey results showed that they could have been even more technical \u2013 apologies, and note that much, much more information is available.) The end of the morning included included a discussion about BI competency centers and the need for agile data warehousing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image16.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image_thumb15.jpg?resize=690%2C324&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"image\" width=\"690\" height=\"324\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I gave my keynote presentation after lunch, and it was very well received (many thanks to everybody that filled out the survey forms)<\/p>\n<p>Next, BusinessObjects veteran Coen de Koenig gave an overview of the key SAP differentiators, and gave a demonstration of the key new features, including the new SAP BusinessObjects Analysis product, featured below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image18.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image_thumb20.jpg?resize=690%2C269&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"image\" width=\"690\" height=\"269\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>SAP\u2019s Marco Jansen opened the event with a welcome and introduction to the themes of the day, including an interesting discussion of BI applied to LinkedIn data that showed that \u201cJack\u201d, \u201cFred\u201d, and \u201cBill\u201d are likely to be CEOs, \u201cChip\u201d and \u201cTodd\u201d are in Sales and \u201cThierry\u201d, \u201cPhilippe\u201d, \u201cLaurent\u201d, and \u201cAlessandro\u201d are more likely to run a restaurant\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/image23.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; You can get more information about the research <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalresearch.eiu.com\/levellingtheplayingfield\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Coen de Koning, Andr\u00e9 Posthuma, and Vincent de Heer are currently doing detailed presentations of what\u2019s new in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0 and EIM 4.0, then this afternoon, after lunch, Coen will do a product demonstration from Coen, and then I\u2019ll be doing my keynote (as above).
