Yes and the numbers are impressive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now a new post on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saphana.com\/community\/blogs\/blog\/2014\/04\/08\/have-you-measured-your-sap-hana-roi\">SAP HANA blog<\/a> has provided an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saphana.com\/community\/blogs\/blog\/2014\/04\/08\/have-you-measured-your-sap-hana-roi\" target=\"_blank\">IDC analysis of the University of Kentucky\u2019s move to the HANA platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>HANA of course brought the expected <strong>technology <\/strong>benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 420 times faster data reporting than legacy system<\/li>\n<li>Up to 15 times improvement in query load times<\/li>\n<li>Average data compression improvement of 77%<\/li>\n<li>Up to 87% reduction in extract, transform, and load (ETL) times<\/li>\n<li>Up to 80% of data updated in real time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But what\u2019s important is that this translates in direct <strong>business<\/strong> savings for the University compared to existing approaches:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$6.17 million in benefits (discounted) over five years<\/li>\n<li>ROI of 509%<\/li>\n<li>Payback in 9.5 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6623\" alt=\"idc roi university of kentucky\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/idc-roi-university-of-kentucky.png?resize=800%2C561&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"800\" height=\"561\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Yes, it&#8217;s a 3D pie chart.
