Next week it’s the SAPPHIRENOW + ASUG annual conference<\/a>, in Orlando Florida. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend, and it\u2019s a great opportunity to mix and mingle, hear about real project implementations, and get the latest information from industry and product experts.<\/p>\n

Analytics is still the hottest topic in technology, and so will undoubtedly loom large in the keynotes<\/a>\u00a0from Bill McDermott, Bernd Leukert, and Hasso Plattner.<\/p>\n

I have the honor of presenting a session<\/a> on what\u00a0I think are the\u00a0latest interesting<\/em> industry trends in BI and analytics.<\/p>\n

Digital transformation has made data insights more essential than ever, and the surge in \u201cmodern\u201d self-service data discovery tools<\/strong> means big changes to how organizations must now organize and govern<\/strong> their analytics projects. Gartner has joked that today\u2019s centralized, IT-focused analytics organizations are \u201cBI-nosaurs\u201d that are on the fast track to extinction \u2013 I’ll\u00a0be exploring why they believe this, and what organizations can do to thrive in the new era<\/strong>. Finally, I’ll talk about my views on how\u00a0new Artificial Intelligence<\/strong> technologies<\/strong> such as machine learning will lead to big changes in how we do analytics.<\/p>\n
