{"id":13597,"date":"2017-05-23T16:20:28","date_gmt":"2017-05-23T14:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/?p=13597"},"modified":"2017-05-23T16:20:28","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T14:20:28","slug":"interviews-byron-banks-sap-analytics-news-at-sapphirenow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timoelliott.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/interviews-byron-banks-sap-analytics-news-at-sapphirenow.html","title":{"rendered":"Interviews: Byron Banks, SAP Analytics News at SAPPHIRENOW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At last week&#8217;s SAP user conference, SAPPHIRENOW, I had the opportunity to interview SAP VP for Analytics Byron Banks.<\/p>\n<p>On day one, we covered the<em>\u00a0<\/em>launch of the new, extended\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/products\/leonardo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SAP Leonardo<\/a>, no longer &#8220;just&#8221; associated with IoT, but a full\u00a0a &#8220;digital innovation system&#8221; &#8212; a solution to the problem of digital transformation with industry accelerators.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ePGV-lQPGlw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We talked about the role of analytics in SAP Leonardo, and the appropriateness of phrase &#8220;data is the new gold!&#8221; (it&#8217;s an inert, mostly useless metal! The new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/products\/lumira.html\">SAP Lumira 2.0<\/a>\u00a0was launched, combining exploration and dashboards. A\u00a0new partnership between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zoomdata.com\/partners\/sap\/\">SAP and Zoomdata<\/a>\u00a0provides enhanced capabilities in SAP Lumira including connectivity to a wide variety of data sources to enable modern analytics at the speed of thought.
