SAP Innovation Forum in Oslo 2013

Oslo SAP Innovation Forum Panorama

After a short welcome from SAP Norway country manager Michael R. Østgaard, I presented the keynote at yesterday’s SAP Innovation Forum in Oslo, entitled “Business Like Never Before”.

Leif Petter Haagestad and Simen Huuse won the SAP Partner Demo Jam, with an eight-minute review of the “performance enhancing effects of HANA”, using an analogy involving Norwegian ski stars. They did a demonstration of BW on HANA, and showed some of the early results they have had running SAP Business Suite on HANA.

During a break, I sat down with them to review what they had talked about, and their opinions about BW and SAP Business Suite on HANA:

Most of the sessions were in Norwegian, but I was particularly interested by the Finance Track presentations by Ivo Bauermann on SAP innovations to transform the finance function; and by Troels Klem Thomsen on achieving excellence in GRC processes.

I also caught the tail end of the session on “SAP Runs SAP  mobility”, with Oguzhan Genis and Jos Houben talking about how SAP deploys and manages 61,000 mobile users at the company. It included a peek at some of tablet-based prototypes the team has been working on that integrate seamlessly with the corporate CRM systems…

It’s the Innovation Forum in Stockholm today, but I’ll be at the Hadoop Summit in Amsterdam.

If you’re in the Baltics, join us for the innovation forums in Tallinn, Riga, or Vilnius, 9th-11th of April.
